A Weekend Of Goals, Cup Drama & Team Spirit!
It was another action-packed weekend for Cardiff Allstars FC, with goals, cup victories and outstanding performances across the age groups.
Under 9 Girls: Three Games, Two Wins
Our Under 9 Girls showed incredible determination with just four players available for all three fixtures. A huge thank you to Canton FC Yellow, Clwb Cymric Coch and Llantwit Major Town Yellows for agreeing to play 4v4. Despite having no substitutes, the girls secured two wins and one defeat. Jess deserves special recognition for scoring eight of the team's nine goals.
Under 12s: Cardiff Allstars 7-2 Radyr Rangers FC Green
Our Under 12s delivered an outstanding attacking performance, scoring seven goals through Harrison, Jermaine, Elliott, Wonderful and Nico. Harrison was named Player of the Match for his excellent defensive work, strong challenges and contribution at the other end of the pitch.
Under 16s: Cardiff Allstars 5-2 Tiger Bay FC
Our Under 16s kicked off their final junior cup campaign in style, coming from behind to secure an impressive 5–2 victory. Oliver Elliott grabbed a superb hat-trick, with Martin Kayongo and Ryan Baker also on the scoresheet. Martin was named Player of the Match after scoring his first goal for Allstars. More importantly, the boys showed tremendous maturity and resilience under pressure.
First Team: Cardiff Allstars 4-1 Clwb Cymric Ail Dim
The First Team bounced back from last weekend with a convincing away win. Jay Gilbertson and Lathem Miller both scored twice, while goalkeeper Cam St John produced a fantastic second-half penalty save to help keep the opposition at bay.
Reserves: Cardiff Allstars 1-1 Grangetown Catholic Old Boys Reserves
Our Reserves began their Cardiff & District AFL City Supporters Cup campaign with a tense encounter. Carl Boardman put Allstars ahead, but the visitors quickly equalised. With no winner after normal time, the game went to penalties, where our boys held their nerve to convert all five and win the shootout 5–3.
From cup progression and impressive victories to resilience in challenging circumstances, every team represented the club with pride this weekend.
Congratulations to all our players and coaches, and thank you to our families and supporters for continuing to get behind the Allstars.

Coach Matt Smashes the Cardiff Half Marathon!
A huge well done to Coach Matt, who took on the Cardiff Half Marathon this weekend and absolutely smashed it, finishing in an incredible 1 hour 53 minutes!
Matt has already raised an amazing £275 for Mind, but donations are still open.

Mixed Results But Strong Performances On Display This Weekend!
It was a challenging weekend for Cardiff Allstars FC, with all three teams showing plenty of character and determination across their fixtures.
Our First Team faced Llanrumney United in a difficult contest. Ryan Mears put the Allstars ahead before Llanrumney turned the game around in the second half, eventually going 3–1 up. Chezney converted from the penalty spot to make it 3–2 with 10 minutes remaining, but Llanrumney added a fourth before the final whistle to secure a 4–2 victory.
The Under 16s had a much more positive result against Llanrumney United, securing a 3–1 victory and extending their unbeaten league record. Jenson Lewis opened the scoring before Llanrumney equalised just before half-time. A strong second-half performance saw Kian Gilbertson score twice in five minutes to put the Allstars in control. The boys showed great discipline and determination to see the game through.
Our Under 12s also put in an excellent performance against Pontprennau Pumas. Despite going 2–0 down, the boys fought back to level the game at 2–2 and were firmly on top for large periods. Some frustrating officiating decisions left the team feeling they deserved more from the game, but the performance itself was full of positives. The midfield worked tirelessly, the strikers created plenty of chances and the defence were outstanding. Caiden was deservedly named Man of the Match after a dominant display at the back.
A mixed weekend in terms of results, but plenty of fight, commitment and character shown across the club. The Allstars keep pushing forward.

ZACH STEPHENS — 100 APPEARANCES FOR CARDIFF ALLSTARS FC
Saturday will be a very special occasion for Zach Stephens as he makes his 100th appearance representing Cardiff Allstars FC.
Reaching 100 appearances for any football club is a fantastic achievement, but it means even more when you consider the commitment, time and dedication that goes into reaching such a milestone. For Zach, it represents countless training sessions, matchdays, challenges, victories, defeats and everything that comes with being part of a football club. Through it all, he has continued to pull on the Cardiff Allstars shirt and represent the club with pride. One hundred appearances is a milestone that deserves to be recognised, and Saturday gives everyone connected with Cardiff Allstars the opportunity to celebrate Zach and everything he has contributed to the club so far.
We would love to see as many supporters, players, friends and family as possible down at St Mellons Fields to help make Zach's 100th appearance a day to remember.
Three games. One club. A very special milestone.

Coach Matt Is Running The Cardiff Half Marathon!
On 4th October, Matt Oliver will be swapping his football boots for running trainers and taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Mind.
This is a huge challenge, but Matt is taking it on for an incredibly important cause, and we couldn't be prouder of him for stepping up and pushing himself to do something so meaningful.
We know just how much hard work, dedication and determination Matt puts into our players every week – now it's our turn to get behind him!
If you can donate, any amount, large or small, would mean so much and will help Matt get closer to his fundraising target while supporting the incredible work Mind does.

From Cup Glory To Comeback Wins - What A Weekend!
CARDIFF ALLSTARS FC – WEEKEND ROUND-UP
It was another action-packed weekend for Cardiff Allstars FC, with plenty of goals, comebacks and moments to be proud of across our teams.
The First Team continued their fantastic start to the season with a huge 3–1 victory over Nelson Cavaliers AFC in the Hugh James SWFA Senior Cup. Despite facing opposition two leagues above, the Allstars showed composure and determination, with goals from Zach Stephens, Ryan Mears and Lathem Miller, while Cam St John produced a string of outstanding saves to help secure the win.
The Under 16s produced an incredible comeback away at Pentyrch Rangers, turning a 3–1 deficit into a 5–3 victory. Ethan Carr and Kian Gilbertson got on the scoresheet, while Oliver Elliott completed a hat-trick, including a superb chip, to earn himself a well-deserved Player of the Match award.
Our Under 9 Girls once again battled through a tough day with just five players, leaving no opportunity for rest between games. They secured a fantastic 3–0 win over Thornhill AFC Blue, before narrowly losing to Barry Athletic Purple and Cogan Coronation Blue. More importantly, the girls once again showed incredible team spirit, proving that they truly win together, lose together and always have each other's backs.
Our Reserves and Under 12s didn't have games this weekend, but that doesn't mean they're taking it easy! Both teams have been training hard and putting in the work, ready to get back out on the pitch and continue their seasons.
Another weekend, another set of performances to be proud of.

Tough Moments And First Wins For Our Allstars Family
It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Cardiff Allstars FC, with plenty of determination and some difficult moments across our teams.
The Under 12s had plenty to celebrate, securing their first win of the 2026/2027 season with an impressive team performance. A hat-trick from Wonderful, who was named Player of the Match, helped the boys to a fantastic result after weeks of hard work in training.
Our Under 16s unfortunately saw their fixture against Canton Rangers postponed just an hour before kick-off after the opposition were unable to field a team. The boys were ready and will now look forward to getting back on the pitch next week.
Meanwhile, our Reserves' fixture against Llanrumney United District was sadly abandoned just minutes into the first half following a serious injury to Korey. Our thoughts remain firmly with Korey as he continues his recovery, and we thank Llanrumney United District, Stephanie Short and the emergency services for their compassion, support and quick response.
Football can bring highs and lows, but it's the support for one another that matters most.

The Girls Are Back!
After the summer break, our Under 9 Girls returned to continue their 2026/27 season, taking on Lisvane Panthers Orange, North Cardiff Cosmos Blue and Barry Athletic Purple. The girls secured a fantastic 2-0 win against Lisvane, with narrow 0-1 defeats against Cosmos and Barry. With just six players available, it was a long morning, but the energy never dropped and the smiles never faded! A brilliant effort from the girls.

Mixed Results But Positivity All Around This Saturday!
Another busy Saturday saw three Cardiff Allstars sides in action, bringing a huge victory, a difficult afternoon and an important first league point.
The First Team continued their perfect start with a massive 8–0 victory away to Cardiff Academicals. Lathem Miller completed a hat-trick, Jay Gilbertson struck twice, while Mason Perry, Matthew O'Donoghue and Ben Holt also found the net. Matthew Oliver played a huge part in the attacking display with four assists, as the First Team made it three wins from three in emphatic fashion.
It was a much tougher afternoon for the Reserves, who were handed an 6–0 defeat by Grangetown Catholic OB Reserves. Two matches in one week proved a difficult ask, but every game provides lessons. The squad will regroup, work on those lessons in training and come back ready to go again.
Our Under 12s earned their first league point of the season with a draw against Maindy Corries U12s White. The progress from their hard work in training was clear to see, with that first victory feeling closer than ever. Joel produced an incredible strike that will already take some beating for Goal of the Season, while Player of the Match went to Jayden, the only Allstar to play every minute and outstanding throughout.
A Saturday that showed every side of football – big victories, difficult lessons and important steps forward!

Mid-Week Drama As Our Allstars Take On Llanrumney Athletic!
It was a Llanrumney Athletic double-header for Cardiff Allstars FC in midweek, with both our First Team and Reserves in action.
The First Team secured an impressive 5–3 victory over Llanrumney Athletic in a game that showed exactly the response we wanted to see. Lathem Miller was unstoppable, scoring four – including a hat-trick sealed by the 48th minute – while Tyler Roach converted from the penalty spot. After Llanrumney fought back to level the game at 3–3, the Allstars showed real character to regain control and take all three points. Just as impressive was the discipline shown in the closing stages. With some questionable tackles threatening to turn the final ten minutes ugly, the Allstars refused to be drawn in, kept their composure and let their football do the talking.
It was a tougher evening for the Reserves, who fell to a 4–2 defeat against Llanrumney Athletic Reserves. Three unanswered first-half goals left them with a mountain to climb, but they refused to give up. Despite Llanrumney adding a fourth, the Allstars responded with two goals of their own and produced a much stronger second-half showing.
A night of mixed results, but plenty of fight, character and togetherness across both Allstars sides.

The Allstars Are Back!
The 2026/27 season is officially underway, with four of our Allstars teams back in action this weekend!
Our Under 16s got life in the B League off to the perfect start with a 2-1 win over Llanrumney United, with Oliver Elliott and Kian Gilbertson finding the net.
Our First Team also secured all three points, beating Tongwynlais Reserves 4-1. Matt Oliver and Tyler Roach opened the scoring before Latham Miller struck twice late on to seal the victory.
It was a tougher start for our Reserves, who fell to a 7-2 defeat against Clwb Sparta Reserves. Jay Machachini and Josh Lock grabbed the Allstars goals, with the boys continuing to battle right through to the final whistle.
Finally, our Under 12s kicked off their season against Cardiff Corinthians. After a tough first half, the boys produced a fantastic second-half performance, with Jax's hat-trick earning him Player of the Match.
Two wins, plenty of goals and some brilliant performances across the club – 2026/27 is officially underway!

The training, the hard work and the preparation have all been leading to this. This weekend, our Senior and Junior teams kick off their 2026/27 campaigns, and we're ready for a good one!

Back-to-back promotions have earned our Under 16s their place in the B League, and they've worked hard to get there. After a perfect pre-season with four wins from four, they're heading into their final year before Youth football full of confidence and determined to make it a season to remember.

A new season brings a new challenge for our Under 12s as they make the step up to 9v9 football. With an expanded squad and plenty of hard work behind them, the boys will be looking to make their mark from the very first whistle.

After changes during the off-season and a renewed commitment from the squad, our Reserves head into the new campaign ready to show exactly what that hard work can produce.

Perfect Pre-Season For Our Under 16's!
Cardiff Allstars Under 16s wrapped up an unbeaten off-season with a thrilling 4–3 win over Cardiff Corries, making it four wins from four in pre-season!
Goals came from Ethan Carr, Oliver Elliott (2) and Jenson Lewis, while Oliver Elliott and Ellis Bourge both stepped up to share the goalkeeping duties.
Four games. Four wins. Plenty of hard work behind them. Now the boys are ready for the real thing as their 2026/27 league campaign kicks off this Saturday!

Three Down, One To Go For Our Under 16's!
Our Under 16s were back in action this weekend for another pre-season friendly, this time taking on Pentrebane.
The boys held strong throughout, even if the weather didn’t! Oliver Elliott opened the scoring early, Joel Sutcliffe added another, and an own goal sealed a 3–1 victory for the Allstars.
After some fantastic saves and solid distribution from the back, Man of the Match went to our keeper, Ollie Carter.
That result makes it three wins from three pre-season games for our Under 16s! This summer, the boys have been putting in the work both individually and as a team, and it’s really starting to show on the pitch.
With just one final friendly remaining before pre-season comes to an end, the boys have built some brilliant momentum and are looking like a real force to be reckoned with.

Our competitive season will now officially get underway on 5th September!

A new season. A fresh start. Your Allstars are ready.
Cardiff Allstars FC officially kick off the 2026/27 season this weekend, as our First Team take on Llanrumney United Reserves.
It’s been a busy off-season for the lads, with plenty of hard work going in behind the scenes to make sure we’re ready for what lies ahead.
Following a league reshuffle that saw our First Team drop into Division One, there’s a point to prove this season. The fire has been lit, the targets are clear, and this group are determined to right that wrong and fight their way back into the Premiership where they belong.
That journey starts this weekend.
New season. Same badge. Bigger hunger.
