Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v Caerau Ely FC U15 Red

This weekend the Orange team faced second-placed Caerau Ely FC in a big game with top spot on the line.
The conditions made things difficult for both sides, with strong winds affecting the flow of the game. Caerau Ely took the lead after 13 minutes, but the response from Allstars was excellent, with Oliver Elliot finding the equaliser shortly after.
Unfortunately, Oliver’s game was cut short following a tough challenge, which disrupted the momentum we had started to build.
The second half did not go our way, as a few mistakes allowed Caerau Ely to take control and add another goal, which ultimately decided the game.
While the result was disappointing, there were still positives to take, particularly the character shown to respond early on. With the return fixture next weekend, the focus now is on learning from this performance and putting things right.
We know what this team is capable of, and one result will not define them. This group has shown their quality all season, and there is no doubt they will respond in the right way and come back stronger.
Goals: Oliver Elliott
Assists: Kian Gilbertson
Player of the Match – Jo Minte
Jo worked tirelessly from start to finish, winning crucial tackles and helping to keep the team in the game with a strong defensive performance.

Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v AFC Whitchurch U15 B

With the sunshine finally returning, it was a great morning for football and an excellent performance from the boys.
You would be hard pushed to find a player who didn’t take their opportunity to showcase their ability. A special mention to Joel and Rory, stepping up from the Black team, who combined for a goal and an assist and showed they are more than ready to contribute at this level.
The game started at a relentless pace, with Oliver Elliott scoring twice in the opening two minutes to give Allstars immediate control. The team maintained that intensity throughout, not allowing Whitchurch any real foothold. Oliver’s push for a hat-trick was unfortunately cut short after a tough challenge, but the team continued to push on, with Kian Gilbertson adding a third before half-time to make it 3–0.
Whitchurch started the second half with a goal, but the response was immediate. Joel Sutcliffe found the net for his first goal for the Orange team, and Rocco Lowery sealed the performance with a superb strike to complete a 5–1 victory.
Goals: Oliver Elliott (2), Kian Gilbertson, Joel Sutcliffe, Rocco Lowery
Assists: Kian Gilbertson (3), Khyan Strong, Rory Lloyd
Player of the Match – Rocco Lowery
An outstanding all-round performance. Strong defensively, composed in possession, and capped off with an excellent goal. A fully deserved recognition for his impact on the game.
A very strong team performance and another clear sign of the progress being made.

Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v Ely Rangers FC U15

Our Allstars were away from home this week to take on Ely Rangers FC. Shortly after kick-off the Allstars didn’t wait long to get the goals flowing, with Ethan opening the scoring after just 4 minutes. This was only the start of a great game for Ethan as he went on to complete a first half hat-trick.
Despite the opposition pulling one goal back, the Allstars remained in control throughout and the result was never in doubt, with the match finishing just short of the mercy rule at 8–1.
Goals: Ethan Carr (3), Oliver Elliott, Ryan Baker (2), Jo Minte, Kian Gilbertson
Assists: Jenson Lewis, Hamza Mohamed (2), Kian Gilbertson (2), Oliver Elliott, Ethan Carr, Rocco Lowery
Player of the Match: Ethan Carr
With a first half hat-trick and an assist in the second half, Ethan was a well deserving Player of the Match this week.

Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v Llanishen FC U15

After a long delay, the Orange squad were finally back in action this weekend against Llanishen FC — and what a return it was.
The opening 15 minutes were competitive as the Allstars shook off some rust, but it wasn’t long before new signing Daniel Mallett opened his Orange account to put us ahead. Llanishen responded quickly to make it 1-1, but once the Allstars settled, the goals began to flow.
Allstars captain Ryan Baker restored the lead when he fired in an absolute screamer, Ethan Carr followed this up with another well worked goal to give us breathing space before halftime.
A goal-line handball saw Llanishen reduced to 10 players, but credit to them — they battled bravely throughout the second half and never stopped competing.
The Allstars, however, hit top gear. In a devastating 15-minute spell, Kian Gilbertson and Oliver Elliott both grabbed hat-tricks as the score moved to 9-1 — bringing the game to a close under mercy rule at 67 minutes.
Both teams agreed to continue with some friendly minutes, where each side added another goal — Ethan Carr once again finding the net for Allstars.
Even when the goals were flowing, the team stayed disciplined and composed — no foot off the gas. After losing our keeper to a head injury, the boys adapted, pushed on, and made every minute count. A real sign of maturity and teamwork.
Player of the Match – Kian Gilbertson: Hat-trick, 2 assists, constant energy and leadership. Responded brilliantly to coaching feedback during the game and drove the team forward all match. Outstanding performance.
Full Time Official Score: 9-1 (Including friendly minutes: 10-2)
Goals: Oliver Elliott (3), Kian Gilbertson (3), Ethan Carr (2), Ryan Baker, Daniel Mallett
Assists: Ellis Bourge, Jenson Lewis (3), Oliver Elliott, Ethan Carr, Hamza Mohamed, Kian Gilbertson (2), Ryan Baker
A fantastic team performance with contributions all over the pitch — goals, assists, composure and character. Brilliant return, boys!

Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v Tiger Bay FC U15

Match Abandoned – Pending League & FAW Investigation
A much-anticipated fixture finally arrived this week as our boys faced familiar opponents Tiger Bay FC. Following last season’s tense encounters — which ended in a win and a draw for Allstars — Tiger Bay had unfortunately developed an unsportsmanlike obsession with off-pitch retaliation. This included a serious safeguarding incident involving an attack on another boy in a case of mistaken identity, resulting in a broken nose.
With this history in mind, our coaching staff rightly requested official match supervision and ensured our Veo camera was in place to document any issues. It didn’t take long for concerns to materialise. From the opening minutes, our players were subjected to persistent pushing, pulling, and reckless challenges. To their immense credit, the Allstars showed restraint and discipline throughout — behaviour that was even acknowledged and praised by the referee during the match.
Due to holidays and pending registrations, Allstars entered the game with just one substitute. Sadly, that substitute — Ellis — was forced off within minutes of coming on after a dangerous, double-footed challenge with studs to his shin and ankle.
Despite some outstanding saves from Ollie C, Tiger Bay scored three unanswered goals. The Allstars responded when Oliver E finished a well-worked move, assisted by Jenson, to pull one back. Tiger Bay later added a fourth. As the match wore on, our boys — having played every minute — began to suffer cramp one by one after giving absolutely everything.
Two separate fights broke out, including one incident where eight players surrounded a single Allstars player, pushing him around, with one placing an arm around his neck. Oliver E showed remarkable maturity and restraint by not retaliating. The referee issued a final warning to the Tiger Bay coaching staff, making it clear that any further incidents would result in abandonment. No team should ever want a match decided by abandonment, and despite the scoreline, Allstars were determined to see the game through and work for every opportunity in the remaining 10–15 minutes. Unfortunately, Tiger Bay’s behaviour escalated further. The referee's warning was short-lived. Within ten minutes, a strong but fair tackle by Rocco led to him being shoved to the ground, with a Tiger Bay player pulling back and clenching his fist. At that point, the referee rightly decided he had seen enough and abandoned the match.
The fixture has now been cancelled pending investigation by the league and the SWFA (South Wales Football Association). We are confident that safeguarding regulations, FAW policy, and clear video evidence will lead to appropriate consequences. As a club, we sincerely hope this marks the end of two seasons of dangerous and unsporting behaviour — before someone is seriously hurt.
Goal: Oliver Elliot
Assist: Jenson Lewis
Player of the Match: Jenson Lewis - As a spectator, it’s impossible to overstate Jenson’s performance. Dominant in attack, committed and clean in the tackle, and delivering several outstanding free kicks that came agonisingly close to changing the game entirely. A phenomenal display.
Referee Acknowledgement: A special mention to the referee. While missed calls are inevitable, his instructions were clear before and during the match. He quickly recognised the nature of the opposition’s tactics and did everything within his power to keep the players safe. A big Allstars thank you.

Cardiff Allstars U15 Orange v Pentyrch Rangers U15

Our Boys Are Back!
After a slight delay to allow the icy ground to thaw, Cardiff Allstars Under 15s Orange finally got back into action this morning against Pentyrch Rangers U15—and what a return it was.
The Allstars flew out of the blocks, racing into a commanding lead with four goals inside the first 33 minutes. Pentyrch responded with a goal of their own, but the Allstars quickly regained control, adding two more before half time to go in 6–1 up, with Oliver Elliot already completing a first-half hat-trick.
The momentum continued after the break as Ethan and Kian combined for three more goals, taking the score to 9–1 by the 58th minute, triggering the mercy rule. Credit to both teams, who agreed to continue the remaining minutes as a friendly.
With some positional shuffling, the goals kept coming. The Allstars added four more, including two on debut from Amine, a brilliant solo unassisted goal from Kameron, and a special moment as keeper Ollie stepped out from goal to score himself—and even grabbed an assist for one of Amine’s goals!
Goals: Ethan (4), Oliver E (3), Amine (2), Jenson, Kameron, Kian and Ollie C
Assists: Kian (3), Oliver E (2), Kameron (2), Ethan (2), Ryan, Amine, Ollie C
Player of the Match: Amine Bhamjee
A shame his goals won’t officially count, but an outstanding debut performance from Amine, capped off with one of the best goals we’ve seen this season.
Welcome to the team, Amine!

Let’s hope the weather turns in our favour so we can return to regular fixtures next weekend.

Another weekend, another win for the Allstars!
It was another strong performance from the team, with some standout individual displays. Ethan Carr made a brilliant return to form — a joy to watch from the sidelines! Huge credit also to those who pushed through injuries and to the ever-determined Ryan Baker, who did everything possible to convince the coaches to let him play on (we see you, Ryan!).
The boys took a little while to settle into the rhythm, but once they did, they took control and finished with a 4–1 victory.

What a performance from our Cardiff Allstars U15s Orange this weekend! Taking on AFC Whitchurch, the boys delivered an absolute masterclass, dominating from start to finish and cruising to an incredible 8–0 victory.
The intensity, communication, and teamwork were on another level — every player worked for each other, pressed as a unit, and played with confidence and flair. The new mercy rule came into effect at 68 minutes, officially ending the match early, but by then the Allstars had already made their statement loud and clear.
